Automatic Polyelectrolyte Make-up Station
Fully automated three-compartment station for precise preparation and dosing of polyelectrolyte solutions.
Polyelectrolytes are generally challenging to mix and dissolve properly in water. The automatic polyelectrolyte make-up station minimises human error and operational problems. The dry powder is appropriately mixed with the correct amount of water and stirred at the correct speed to maintain its properties.
The station comprises three compartments: mixing, ageing, and dosing. A hopper with a heated dosing screw is mounted on top of the mixing compartment — the heating prevents condensation of the powder. A flowmeter in the water supply adjusts the water-to-polyelectrolyte ratio.
Water and polyelectrolyte are simultaneously dosed into a disperser where the powder is finely dispersed to avoid lump forming. Underflow-overflow baffle systems slowly transfer the solution to the dosing compartment, where a dosing pump delivers it to the process. Two level switches in the dosing compartment control the water supply and powder feeder automatically.
