The PFL flotation by VDZ Aqua is a reliable wastewater treatment system with high yield, standardly built in a low-to-the-ground construction. PFL flotation is mainly used for wastewater heavily contaminated with solid materials, COD, BOD, fats, and oils.
VDZ Aqua’s PFL flotations are fully made of stainless steel AISI 304 (AISI 316Ti available on request). The recirculation pump is designed for continuous use over long periods. All systems are delivered complete, pre-assembled, and tested at the VDZ Aqua facility.
Water enters through the inlet port and is mixed with a recirculated current containing very fine air bubbles of 30–50 microns. These tiny bubbles contact the solids, flocs, fats, and oils, causing rapid separation. The maintenance-free aeration system uses clog-free aerator design. Automatic pneumatic drain valves handle sediment disposal.
Thanks to the specially designed flotation and sludge scraper system, sludge can reach a dry matter content of up to 35% (chemical/physical sludge up to 15%). PFL flotations are available in standard capacities from 5 to 100 cubic metres per hour.
