Biological treatment uses microorganisms to break down organic compounds in wastewater into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass. VDZ Aqua’s biological treatment systems are engineered for industrial applications where organic loading is high and consistent effluent quality is required.

Our intermittent activated sludge technology operates all treatment stages — feeding, aeration, settling, and decanting — in a single tank. This eliminates the need for separate settling tanks and sludge recirculation, resulting in a simpler, more compact, and more reliable system.

The central control unit supervises all process stages independently, automatically adjusting aeration to match the incoming load. This means the system adapts to variable feed conditions without manual intervention, making it ideal for industries with fluctuating production schedules.
